Week 57

Sunday, October 26, 2014
Out of all the pictures taken at #ZAM2014, my mom decided that this was the best picture to portray my role in this wedding. She described it as the "boss in charge" with my trusty sidekick in tow.

Side job: mechanic. My attempt to fix my trunk may have worked...keeping my fingers crossed!

Tuesday, October 28, 2014
All about Patty day. 1. Patty (sorta) learned to boat! 2. Patty had to go to the vet :(.  He either has allergies, asthma, an infection or the start of heart disease.  First up, antibiotics!

Wednesday, October 29, 2014
Welcome to the zoo, zoo, zoo, with the kangaroo, roo, roos and the tigers too, too, too. Welcome to the zoo, zoo, zoo!! Putt-Putt saves the zoo is on my phone! I am probably a little too excited about this.  My next game to buy is zombinis!

Thursday, October 30, 2014
It was a mistake to think that PJ could fit in a women's size 16 dress.  I guess we will be making his Halloween costume instead of buying it.

Friday, October 31, 2014
Meet the Rubbles: Barney, Betty, Bam Bam and our pet Dinosaur, Patty!  All of the costumes (except Patty's) are handmade for under $50 total!

Saturday, November 1, 2014
Men's Wearhouse is a fascinating place filled with every tie a girl could ever want to buy for someone else.  So. Many. Colors. So. Many. Patterns.

Week 56

Sunday, October 19, 2014
It was the perfect fall temperature and Sid was behaving perfectly.  For the first time, we went on a trail ride alone, and he behaved the entire time.  It was a great way to spend the gorgeous day!

  Monday, October 20, 2014
Patty burrito, anyone?

Tuesday, October 21, 2014
So I was trying to take a sneaky picture without these people questioning it. But, anyways, there is now a free lending library birdhouse on campus!

Wednesday, October 22, 2014
 $2.69 for gas!! Win!!

Thursday, October 23, 2014
I turned all my spare change into quarters so I can do laundry another day.  It's always so impressive how much money spare change can add up to.

Friday, October 24, 2014
Bloodwork, ct scan, xrays, echocardiogram, and ekg.  Hopefully, one of those can figure out why I can't breathe.

Saturday, October 25, 2014
I finally got to meet seven!!
Also, I went on a ghost tour with my parents and Veronica.  The creepiest part was being followed by this person in a clown costume.

Week 55

Sunday, October 12, 2014
This snake is getting weird and weirder and longer and longer.

  Monday, October 13, 2014
Our electricity meter broke over a month ago, so our electric bill ended up being only $12! Unfortunately, we have to pay an estimated amount next month to make up for the missed month. :(

Tuesday, October 14, 2014
My bubble umbrella broke after 5 solid years of use. Luckily, I just fixed it with a twist tie.  It looks a bit funny, but it gets the job done!

Wednesday, October 15, 2014
I finally got my haircut on a complete whim.  I got about 4 inches cut off. It feels so much better now!

Thursday, October 16, 2014
Meet Reggie the hedgie!!

Friday, October 17, 2014
PJ and I went on a Zombie Paintball Hayride.  It was a cool idea, but not executed very well.  The zombies were pretty lame, and they left all the flood lights on so it was super bright out.  Still, I got to shoot my first paintball gun, so that was pretty exciting!

Saturday, October 18, 2014
We hung out with PJ's dad to watch the UK game Saturday night.  We mostly spent the night petting these two little knuckleheads.  They think they are attention deprived, but they are probably the most spoiled dogs ever!
Week 54

Sunday, October 5, 2014
Kevin climbed all the way up into his plants and looked so cute, that I just had to take a picture of him! He even posed perfectly for it :)

  Monday, October 6, 2014
So my phone decided that an askew view was the best option.

Tuesday, October 7, 2014
Happy Fall indeed!! Sam and Zach sent the most delicious cookies and treats to me.  Luckily for PJ, I was nice enough to share with him.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014
I saw this and immediately thought of chubby little Henry.  I sure do miss that silly girl!

Thursday, October 9, 2014
PJ bought a year supply of rats for Kevin.  So, now about half of our freezer is filled with rats (in the brown bag).  It's pretty inconvenient.

Friday, October 10, 2014
My good friend, Toni, came in from D.C. for the weekend.  We celebrated by having a fun karaoke night out at the bars!

Saturday, October 11, 2014
After having to get up super early and drive 4 hours roundtrip for research, I decided to take the rest of the day off binge watching New Girl on Netflix. It was well worth it.

Week 53

Sunday, September 28, 2014
There was a shooting on campus late at night.  Of course, the entire school was on lock down for a few hours.  Luckily, no one was hurt.  The shooters ended up being a few football players with pellet guns.  They thought it would be a funny joke.  I hope they get expelled. (I also technically took this picture on Monday AM because I was sleeping already).

  Monday, September 29, 2014
My snapchat got hacked and sent a groupon for diet pills to all of my snapchat friends.  I'm impressed with how quickly snapchat sent me an email with the exact phone and location of who hacked my account! Technology really is impressive these days.

Tuesday, September 30, 2014
I picked up some mysterious rashes...(not too surprised-mysterious rashes seem to be my thing).  Let's hope they just mysteriously disappear as quickly as the appeared!

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

I forgot to take a picture.  But, today was PJ's Mom's Birthday.  We went to her house for pizza and cake.  We also got to meet her new foreign exchange student, Saeed.  He is really funny and has tons of cool stories from his home country, Saudi Arabia.

Thursday, October 2, 2014
Patrick had no idea he was in trouble when he posed for this picture. Yes, those are banana nut bread crumbs leftover from when he dug a wrapper out of the trashcan and ate it on the bed!

Friday, October 3, 2014
PJ and I went to see Gone Girl tonight. The movie was awesome.  The book is even more awesome.  I highly suggest reading the book Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, and then going to watch the movie. You won't be disappointed!

Saturday, October 4, 2014
It's football time in the Bluegrass!  We had a BME tailgate with most of the grad students (plus Jude, the husky).  It was a lot of fun, and the Cats won!

Saturday, September 27, 2014

Week 52

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Today, we went to Grant's Farm in St. Louis.  Essentially, it is a hobby zoo that Ulysses Grant built.  They have all sorts of animals, ranging from elephants to kangaroos to lemurs, that you can get ridiculously close to.  PJ's favorite animal exhibit was feeding the baby goats, who were quite the bottle hogs (top picture).  We then went to the Clydesdale farm on the property.  This is where all the Budweiser Clydesdales are raised and trained from 6 months to 5 years old.  We got a behind the scenes tour and got to meet a retired gelding that was used as a hitch horse on one of the Budweiser wagons (middle picture).  We finished the day by stopping at the St. Louis Botanical Gardens.  We got there about two hours before it closed so we had to do a rush through.  The place was HUGE!  It was really pretty, and we got to feed monster sized coy fish.  We even had a nice statue of George Washington take a picture for us (bottom picture). The picture ended up being a bit crooked, but I like the artsy look of it.

  Monday, September 22, 2014
Monday was my actual research day. I got some extra reagent on my hands, and it turned them blue.  Luckily, the blue goes away with time. But, until then, I got to annoy PJ by singing "I'm blue ba da dee da, I'd die if I was green."

Tuesday, September 23, 2014
Missouri has some of the prettiest sunrises and sunsets.

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

On the way back to Lexington, we stopped at the Gateway Arch.  It's massive.  We also decided to venture to the top (I had no idea you could go inside of it).  To get to the top, you have to ride up in these little pods that look like something out of Xenon.  The pods are supposed to hold 5 people, but luckily there was just two of us in ours.  The view from the top was awesome. You could see about 5 miles in every direction.

Thursday, September 25, 2014
Patty really missed us while we were gone.  He was so desperate for attention that he let me put milk tabs on his feet as bracelets.  The sad part is that he didn't really seem to mind them too much.

Friday, September 26, 2014
Hopefully, the third fish is the charm!  On Thursday night, we cleaned out Sebastian's tank, and the fish had a minor freak out session but seemed to have recovered.  But, on Friday morning, PJ discovered the fish sticking out of Sebastian's mouth...so needless to say, the fish died and Sebastian ate him.  So, we bought another $1 fish...hopefully, this one lasts longer than the last two!

Saturday, September 27, 2014
Milk and Oreos is my reward for a stressful two weeks being over!!
Week 51

Sunday, September 14, 2014

Rachel brought me garden tomatoes!! I think I ate almost all of them in one sitting.

  Monday, September 15, 2014
There are few things better than a perfectly clean car.  Roland got a much needed deluxe treatment with a scrub inside and out!

Tuesday, September 16, 2014
Turns out Patty and I are both fans of passing out for two hours on a Tuesday.  And we nap in creepily similar positions.

Wednesday, September 17, 2014
Good luck from the praying mantis on PJ's car!

Thursday, September 18, 2014

Wahooo!!

Friday, September 19, 2014

Whelp, I forgot to take a picture :(

Saturday, September 20, 2014

PJ and I drove to Missouri for my research project. On the drive there, we saw an UFO.  Then, we went to the St. Louis Zoo.  It was a really nice zoo (and a free!), but overrun with children.  Of course, my favorite exhibit at the zoo was the lemurs!
